NSF Standards and California Proposition 65

Cycle Stop Valves conform to NSF standards even though they do not have the NSF stamp. The NSF stamp will not make the product any safer, it would only serve to increase the cost to the consumer. As many Cycle Stop Valves are sold in California, we attach the proposition 65 warning label to all valves. This in no way means that Cycle Stop Valves are hazardous to the health of the public. To be sold in California, even a bottle of water or a jar of peanut butter must have the proposition 65 warning label. Much controversy still exist about California's proposition 65. Proposition 65 is less about protecting the public and more about lawyers lining their pockets at the expense of manufacturers who must pass on this cost to the consumer. It is interesting that municipal water systems are exempt from Prop 65. If the water system for an individuals home cannot use any products with lead or other toxic chemicals, why is it then acceptable for municipal water systems to use toxic products?
